Many of the miners who lost their lives were from Homedale, and the tragedy had a profound impact on the community. The riots lasted for almost a month, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuries to several others. The strike quickly turned violent, with strikers and police clashing in the streets. The strike began in April of that year when 200 shepherds walked off the job at nearby sheep ranches over an issue regarding a wage dispute. In 1925, the town of Homedale was the site of a violent and deadly conflict between striking sheepherders and law enforcement officials. While it may not be the most widely known area in the state, it has a rich history, including several significant historical events that have taken place over the years. Homedale, Idaho is a small town situated in the southwestern part of the state, with a population of just over 2,500 people.
